Iphone 4S Announcement

So yesterday Apple made their iphone announcement. I would like to hear your input/thoughts on what they announced? I'm not sure why people are so disappointed. That was exactly what I was expecting. The key addition for me was the global support, which is there as expected. I never thought this phone would have 4G support. To me, the better camera, OS, processor, and Siri are all just icing on the cake. I'm looking forward to getting my iphne4S.

Would love to hear your thoughts and/or comments on the announcement, whether it is positive or negative?

  1. I hoped for more, but I was still content with what they announced. I love the Apple ecosystem, so for me, Google has to do something revolutionary to make me switch to them (like how the 2007 iPhone revolutionized the phone industry). Google just doesn't have the ecosystem that Apple does.

  4. So last night, I walk in the door and my son has his new iphone 4S hooked up to the PC port on our large screen 55inch LED TV. He's streaming a movie over NetFLIX and it is very clear. He then projected a Keynote presentation on the big screen and it finally dawned on me where its' getting to the point where this little 4S can replace my laptop on business trip. All that's needed is the special Apple adapters (I have both the VGA one as well as the HDMI adapter). The power of these smartphones married up with the appropriate peripherals (Bluetooth keyboard and projector or big screen TV) make for an awesome toolset!!!

  5. Now that you have your iphone 4S, tell me about some of the applications you find most useful on the device. The first one which a friend told me about was Key Ring. This application takes all your customer courtesy card that your carry around on your key chain, and puts them all in one place on your cell phone via this app. So for example, your ShopRite Plus card actually gets stored on your phone. Next time you check out, simply bring the card up on your phone, run the bar code across the checkout scanner, and all your discounts get applied. I've found this to be very helpful since I have about 5 or 6 different key ring cards attached to my key chain right now, making me feel like I'm carrying this huge wad of keys around with me all the time. Now with this app, all those key ring attachments go away!! Great and useful app!!! More to come so check back!!!

  7. I agree with the video camera comment. My son used his iphone4S to record a video for a school project. The video had lots of motion, and was taken both indoors and outdoors. He played it off his phone onto a alrge screen TV and I couldn't beleive the quality. I didn't believe it came off his phone. There is some kind of stabilization built into the video camera that prevents the usual jumpy video when usig a normal video camera. Try it out!!!

  8. With Siri, I'm not productive in the car during my commute. I'm sending emails, texts, and creating reminders all by simply speaking to Siri. It works great!!

  13. I love my iphone4s. I find it to be a powerful tool to have in my pocket at all times. After watching the ease of use of the iCloud in the following video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv_TD8-K4EU), I activated the cloud for myself and now keep my ipad2 and iphone4s in synch wirh rhe same docments and photos.

This is a great device. I highly reccomend it for those that may be on the fence.

I'd like to hear about more crative and usefull uses for Siri if folks would like to share.

    Thanks
    JG

  14. iCLoud is great for one person with multiple devices. Things get alittle tricky when you're trying to share a single account between 2 or more family members,
